This includes Herts Bifold Doors, a leading supplier of bi-fold doors in Hertfordshire, who were recently given the tough job of integrating lift & slide doors into a second floor loft extension in London.
Measuring 2m x 2m and weighing over 300 kilos, they had to employ a crane hire specialist to help hoist the doors and glass up and securely insert them into the pre-prepared aperture.
They did so by utilising an innovative spider crane which lifts and cleverly unfolds once the glass is ready to be positioned.
The framework was completed at ground level ahead of being raised by the crane and fixed into place, followed by the door sashes which were similarly elevated and fixed to complete the outer frame.
Upon completion of the outer frame, the glass was hoisted and then inserted ready for beading, ahead of being sealed and trimmed.
Finally, the balustrade was fitted to complete the door design which will offer the occupants captivating views.

There’s no doubt that Herts Bifold Doors 25 years’ worth of experience in the glazing industry proved crucial for such a demanding project.
