Our accredited aïr retailer network steadily continues to grow and consists of some fantastic companies, including Hehku of West Sussex.
We were delighted to attract Hehku into the fold back in June and recently interviewed their Divisional Manager Gary Burt to find out more about the firm and their decision to come on-board.
1. Can you give some background on the company?
The primary objective of Hehku Heavenly Spaces is to deliver complete turn-key solutions for our clients wishing to create a transformational living space. The key elements of our residential and high end residential offering are design, construction (specifically Orangery, Conservatory, and Glazed Extensions), aluminium and hardwood glazing and luxury kitchens all woven together by experienced industry professionals delivering outstanding service and project execution. We work seamlessly alongside our network of Architects, Interior Designers, Developers, and domestic clients to help guide them from project inception to completion. Whilst full turn-key is an area that we feel delivers most value to our clients, we have expertise in each independent discipline and we are adept at undertaking projects in these areas alone.
Products specialised in – Aluminium Sliding Doors, Bi-Folding Doors, Windows, Sky Lights, Luxury Kitchens, Orangeries, Conservatories and Glazed Extensions.
2. When was Hehku established?
We are part of the Alltask Group who have been operating successfully in the Commercial sector for 24 years. Hehku was formed as a result of a desire to take the extreme standards of professional project execution required in commercial work to the domestic market. The name ‘Hehku’ is a Finnish word and directly translates to the English word ‘Glow’ or ‘Halo’ which depicts our desire to create bright and contemporary living spaces. The brand name and ethos is one of transparency, honesty and a desire to place the best interests of our staff and customers are the heart of all decision making. Happy staff = Happy customers!
3. What is your target market and typical customers?
Our target market is ABC1’s. Generally, to date we have found our clients to be middle aged successful professionals (cash rich/time poor) and people in their mid-fifties to mid-sixties who own their own home, have children in their late teens or at University who are looking to improve the home. Note, we do not offer finance packages so our clients directly fund their projects.
4. What areas do you cover?
London and the South East in general (defined as Counties adjoining the M25). However, specifically we target Sussex, Kent, Surrey, London. Our brand new Concept Showroom is in East Grinstead, West Sussex, bordering Kent and Surrey with easy access to the M25 and London by road or rail.
5. How’s the reaction been to your Home Extension Concept Centre since it opened?
Great reaction, continual positive feedback about what a brilliant environment it is and a great showcase of Home Kitchen extensions and the related products. Ultimately, we are a lifestyle brand first, so we are all about how these products change your life – the showroom projects this beautifully.
6. What singles Hehku out from rival firms?
“we found the aïr team to share the same values as us meaning we can build a strong relationship that will last for years to come.”
We directly oppose direct sale tactics. We want to build lasting relationships with our clients so they become fans of the brand. We do not offer discount gimmicks but we embrace well timed promotions to help our clients. We work with people and their projects at their preferred pace. We are honest and we try to give the best impartial advice – we only sell people what they need. Also, we do not manufacture our own products. Across the board we focus on sourcing the best supply chain available with the best products who are focused on excellent manufacturing standards and new product development. This allows Hehku to remain at the cutting edge and keep our eye on excellent service delivery.
7. What encouraged Hehku to become an aïr accredited retailer?
Well, we loved the sliding doors and the aïr brand. It’s fresh, vibrant and progressive – traits that directly align themselves with Hehku. Equally, we found the aïr team to share the same values as us meaning we can build a strong relationship that will last for years to come.
8. Any aïr projects on the horizon?
We have some great projects signed and in the pipe line due for completion in 2015 – Watch this space!
9. Impact of aïr on the business?
They’re just a pleasure to work with, positive and integral to helping Hehku establish itself as a market leading brand in creating transformational living spaces.
